Recent Work

These are some pieces I've created recently.  I've been using a lot of beads from Guatemala that my friend Jody brought back from her most recent mission trip.  I've also been working with wire, and have started doing some rings.  I will be at the Downtown Terre Haute Block Party on Saturday, August 27.

Mother of Pearl

These pieces were commissioned for a local charity auction. The open discs are mother of pearl. The necklace is long and continuous so it has no clasp and is easy to wear. The bracelet is on stretch cord.

Beaded Cuff

This beaded cuff is my first foray into wire work. I learned how to do this in a class at JoAnn Fabrics. I am looking forward to working more with wire. I have some copper wire I found at a yard sale that I'm going to experiment with.

Wood

These are some pieces from my wooden bead collection. The rhino necklace is a particular favorite of mine; his name is Irving and he is in my personal collection. He had a brother, Walter, but he has been sold.

Matthew 6:33 bracelet

The Matthew 6:33 Bracelet: Seek God first, He'll take care of the rest!

The six matching center beads represent the sixth chapter of Matthew. The three matching beads on either side represent "thirty three," the thirty third verse. This creates a visual reminder to seek God, to seek His presence, and then He'll take care of the rest of your needs.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33, NIV

Recycled bracelet

A friend at work had a necklace that she wanted me to take some links out of to make a different necklace, and she let me keep what was left over. I made this triple strand bracelet out of what she didn't like.

Anniversary jewelry

I bought a black and white print dress for my 20th wedding anniversary party and my 25th class reunion, and the girls at work thought it needed a pop of red. So I made this jewelry to wear. I used to 16" lengths of chain and a red glass bead for the necklace, and leftover chain and red glass beads for the earrings.
